Kingdom of God

Mustard Seed with Mustard Tree at the Behind

Praise the Lord. Happy to see all your smiling faces again. Let’s dig deep into the Mustard Seed today!

On Gospel according to Mark it is said that

Mark Chapter 4 : 30,31

30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

Here, Jesus is speaking about the Kingdom of God. When we listen to the gospel of Christ, there is a seed sowed into our hearts. We may think of it as a insignificant incident. You may think of “Accepting Jesus” as a small and normal event. But in the sight of God it is not like what you think of. Whomever was the gospel spoken to, Whoever accepted the salvation, Whomever accepted Jesus Christ. To all of them even if the Kingdom of God has been sowed in small-scale, In the sight of God “It one day should grow a yield Big Gain” is what God desires. Thus does the Holy Bible say that

“We should never be careless of our salvation”

If you see what God has said, Mustard is small in size. When sowed it is the smallest of all that is sown. In our kitchen the smallest of all the items is the Mustard.

Mustard is small in size but once it is sowed it grows and transforms into a big tree. So big that all fowls of the air is able to build their nest on the wide spread branches enough to provide a protected places to stay does the tree grow is what God perceive in his sight.

So even in our life the salvation we got at the beginning from God, Even if the beginning is inconsiderable, in our end before death,

  • How we live our life in this world with the our salvation ?
  • How good of blessing are we unto others during our livelihood ?
  • How profitable are we unto others in our life?

is what expects from our Life.

For the mustard to grow, what is it’s first step ?

2 Corinthians 4 : 16

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

The outward man perisheth but the inward man is renewed. Thus when the man of flesh perishing the inward man is renewed will we be able to grow to the expectation of God. We have sowed the mustard seed. Kingdom of God is like unto a mustard seed. For it to grow and become a blessing unto others, so much to give shelter unto the fowls or birds First should the outer man die and the inner man should be strengthened i.e. All the works of the flesh should be destroyed.

The works of flesh include

  • Ego
  • Attitude since Birth (Character from the birth to the day we accepted our Salvation)

Destroying the flesh should he become a new creature with Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

In our life if only we be in such a place where our flesh is dead and the inner man is alive, shall we be able to yield like the mustard which grows to being a blessing unto others.

God also is passionate for us to grow.

Isaiah 27:3

I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.

The God who sowed the Kingdom of God in us look upon to be like a Grape-Vine. Like mustard here God is referring to a Grape-Vine.

What will he do here ?

  • He will keep it

God tries to protect the salvation that is within us.

  • He waters it

In order for it to grow he provides us with Doctrines, The presence of Holy Spirit and Guidance so that we be not how the Grape-Vine was sowed but we continually grow and yield fruits.

i.e. For us to be a Mustard tree and be a shelter to many birds and protect us does God take desire and takes many steps for us.

Thus for us to Grow to the expectation of God, Yield fruits unto God he water’s and protects us is the part of the God. God also provides us with anointing, doctrine, words required for our growth. When we too try, when we also long for his presence, when we read the Bible and meditate it and we submit ourselves so that the outer man can be destroyed, Surely will we reach the Growth Expectation of God in our life.

Isaiah 61 : 1

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

So what is the anointing that hath been given to us?

The mustard like unto Kingdom of God is for us to tell about the gospel to others.

“The growing branches on tree which provides place for the nest of fowls of air”

Fowls of Air is the souls which are floating around without everlasting life.

Thus for us to say unto these souls about the everlasting life and about the true resurrection are we called.

Not only these but people with burden in heart, Problems with family, Bond with the chains of devil, to rescue them all has God kept a anointing inside us.

We should not be ignorant of the salvation and do go to church for namesake. Even we being like a mustard seed, we are with a responsibility of spreading our branches.

The days of my life should be spent speaking about the Gospel of God unto other people’s. I should be at a place where I would emancipate others. I should be in a place where I would be binding the wounds of the wounded. Saying should thou take responsibility.

Proverbs 5:16

Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.

The salvation in you should be dispersed abroad. When your fountain of salvation is dispersed, the fowls of air with thirst will be able to drink the water.

The rivers should be dispersed in streets. While reading about Joseph we see

Genesis 49:22

Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

Joseph’s bough was a blessing unto others, so is our salvation.

You reading this blog and have realized that “You are still being a Mustard Seed” ask unto God “for the branches so that the fowls of air dwell therein” Surely will God give you the growth unto you.

Again as said prior, to bring out the branches we should

  • Destroy the Outer man and
  • Strengthen the Inner man

If we read the first two verses of Isaiah chapter 27

Isaiah 27 : 1,2

1 In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

2 In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.

God said he will destroy the Leviathan Serpent. After him slaying the serpent will he save the Vine. Only when the sin inside us is destroyed than will we be able to yield fruits. Sitting in darkness will we not be able to give light unto others. If we ourselves are tangled in sin, we won’t be able to untangle and rescue others and will be also unable to spread our branches.

No sooner the Leviathan serpent be slayed than will be there growth in our life. We should die as a grain of wheat than will there be a growth in us. We should die as a mustard seed than will there be growth in us. Than will we be able to spread our branches.

May God give us his grace to grow.

Amen.
